What's New
Setup Fees - Your Choice Now
Remember how setup fees used to be mandatory when switching plans? Not anymore! You can now:
- Keep the default setup fee if you want
- Change it to a different amount
- Skip it entirely by setting it to zero
- Add one even if the plan doesn't usually have it
Two Ways to Time the Switch
You've got options for when the switch happens:
Right Now:
- The switch happens immediately
- We'll handle all the prorated charges automatically
- Members see their new plan right away
Next Bill Date:
- Everything stays the same until the next billing cycle
- Members see their current plan marked as "pending cancellation"
- The new plan shows up as "pending activation"
Smart Discount Handling
We've made discounts smarter too:
- Existing discounts carry over automatically
- For counted discounts (like "first 12 months"), switching plans starts a fresh count
- We factor in current discounts when calculating prorated amounts
Good to Know
A few helpful details about how it all works:
- Setup fees only show up on the first bill after the switch
- For downgrades, if the prorated difference is $1 or less, we'll automatically switch it on the next bill date
- Both you and your member get confirmation emails when a switch happens
How to Make the Switch
- Find your member (through People > Members or just search)
- Look for the three dots next to their current plan
- Click "Switch Plan"
- Pick the new plan
- Handle any discounts
- Adjust the setup fee if needed
- Choose when it should happen
- Double-check everything looks right
- Save and you're done!
